In what fields can bridge steel plates be used

Although, from the name alone, bridge steel plate is a kind of special thick steel plate for manufacturing bridge structure. It is made of special steel, carbon steel and low alloy steel for bridge construction. The end of the steel number is marked with Q (bridge), and the thickness of bridge steel plate is 4.5 ~ 50mm. It is used for making highway bridges and railway bridges with riveted and bolted welding structures, including sea crossing bridges. However, in fact, bridge steel plate has many uses and can be used in different fields.

Carbon steel for bridge construction includes a3q for riveting bridge structure and 16q for welding bridge structure; Low alloy steels for bridge structures include 12mnq, 12mnvq, 15MnVNq, 16Mnq, etc. The surface of the bridge steel plate shall be free of cracks, bubbles, scabs, folds, inclusions and delamination. If the above surface defects are allowed to be cleaned, the cleaning depth shall not be greater than half of the steel thickness tolerance from the actual size, and the thickness shall be guaranteed. The cleaning place shall be smooth without edges and corners.

Bridge steel plate is mainly used for erecting railway bridges, highway bridges, sea crossing bridges, etc. it is required to have high strength, toughness, bear the load and impact of locomotive and vehicle, and have good fatigue resistance, certain low-temperature toughness and atmospheric corrosion resistance. Bridge steel plate should also have good welding performance and low notch sensitivity. On the whole, the application field of bridge steel plate in the market is still very extensive.
