Shipbuilding mainly purchases hull plates, flat steel, bulb flat steel, equilateral angle steel, unequal angle steel, round steel, pipe rivets, fasteners, paint, etc.

Marine steel:
Types of idle steel
Marine steel can be divided into steel for hull structure and boiler, steel for pressure vessel and mechanical structure, etc.
1). Steel for hull structure
All hull structural steels are to be produced by steel mills approved by the classification society, and the products that pass the inspection are to be stamped by the classification society. The smelting method of steel can be made by open hearth furnace, electric furnace or basic oxygen blown converter steelmaking method. If other methods are adopted, special approval by classification society shall be obtained. The finished steel should also be tested according to the regulations. The test content includes chemical composition analysis and physical test. The physical test items mainly include: tensile test, cold bending test and impact test.
According to chemical composition and performance, hull structural materials are divided into two types: general-strength hull structural steel and high-strength hull structural steel.
2) High-strength hull structural steel.
High-strength hull structural steel is also called marine low-alloy steel. Since high-strength hull structural steel is smelted by adding a small amount of alloying elements such as manganese, niobium, vanadium, aluminum and silicon on the basis of general-strength hull structural steel, its strength, mechanical properties, weldability, corrosion resistance and Ancient items such as wear resistance are better than general strength hull structural steel. Although the price of steel itself is expensive, because of its various properties, the amount of steel used in shipbuilding can be reduced, thereby reducing the weight of the hull structure and reducing the cost of shipbuilding. The final economic index is similar to that of general-strength hull structural steel.
