Due to its high hardness, 40cr steel plate is not easy to use and operate in various ways, especially for drilling, which is a difficult way to operate. Special tools and methods need to be used to drill holes. Otherwise, 40cr steel plate not only cannot successfully drill holes, but also may damage the material.
If the hole to be drilled is relatively small (such as within 16mm), Fried Dough Twists drill can be used to drill directly. To prevent deviation when the drill bit bites, a small hole is usually made with a punch first. There is no need to drill small holes before expanding them. The hole opener has a center drill, which is used to first drill a positioning guide hole on the steel plate for drilling with a large diameter hollow drill bit. If you want to drill a hole as large as 10 inches in diameter, it will be much easier to use gas cutting. High precision cutting such as laser cutting and water jet cutting can also produce very small diameter holes (such as below 5mm).
